★★★½ Y Tu Mamá También

[Gino: 3.5, Twoshoes: 3.5]

Gino says: 'In pure movie-making, this film is better than a 3.5: The acting was good. The photography/camera-work complemented the writing to really make this a good road trip movie, immersing the viewer in the Mexican landscape and populace. The technique of narration which gives you entirely tangential details about minor characters as well as brief glimpses of the political backdrop in this non-political story was effective. The characters themselves are kinda obnoxious and vulgar though, which takes some of the subjective enjoyment out of the film. Still seeing this film gave me even greater respect for writer/director/producer/editor Alfonso Cuarón.'
