★★★★ Once
[Twinkletoes: 3.5, Gino: 4.0]
Twinkletoes says: "I really enjoyed the story of the relationship of the two main characters in this film. Unfortunately about half of this film’s 85 minutes felt like an amateur music video. I’m not saying the music was necessarily bad, it just wasn’t always great. And given the structure and story of this film, it really needed to be in order for me to love this film. Still, it’s incredibly sweet, has a wonderful relationship at its core, and it has some nice music."
Gino says: "I will first say that if you don't like the music in this, you probably will not like the film much, as it plays such a large part. I found the songs not catchy, but very pleasant. The rest of the film is the kind of thing than could be summed up in three sentences. But I found the chemistry between the two leads (non-actors) to be palpable, and the film was pleasant all around. I was very surprised, watching the bonus material, that the film wasn't actually written with this lead guy in mind -- not a "vehicle" for him or something. And that led me to think that I wouldn't have liked it as much if I were familiar with the artist(s) playing the leads ahead of time. Anyway, it is a simple, pleasant film with a natural feel and some nice songs."
