Gino says: 'Based on the two (dir.) Mira Nair films I have seen -- she seems to me to be the Terrence Malick of family dramas. I.e. a lot of poetic (though not self-conscious) camera work. Really elegant (though not showy) direction in my opinion. Now, this was not some stellar piece of art, but it was sort of up my ally, thus the 4 stars. Oh, and I have to say the guy who played the dad in this was so good that I couldn't believe he was acting. Two-shoes has been negligent about giving me reviews lately, but I got the impression that she would have given it like a 3.5 -- which I think is reasonable too.'
