Gino's Best of 2009

Another tough year to sum up. I saw a fair amount of movies, but the best of these were old ones. So, I will list only 2 this year, both of which were actually released in 2008:

The runner up is: Synecdoche, New York, for it's ambition and weirditude.

The winner is: Rachel Getting Married.

Honorable Mentions: Star Trek and The King of Kong. A bit older: To Live (Huozhe) and Do the Right Thing. Then I saw and reviewed some good oldies this year: The Wizard of Oz, Dr. Strangelove, Raging Bull, and Seven Samurai.
