Twinkletoes says: 'The 2nd film directed by sometime director Thomas McCarthy is the story of a lonely professor who finds a couple of illegal immigrants living in his rarely used NYC apartment. Great acting all around and a very moving story. If I had any complaints they would be minor. Missing was some of the peculiar whimsy of The Station Agent, but I suppose that was just a totally different film. Also, I found a couple of the more minor story elements to be a bit contrived, more just devices to fill in some of the blanks and to get the story to where he wanted it to go. Still I wholeheartedly recommend this film if your looking for something thoughtful and serious.'
