★★½ Transformers

Gino says: 'Transforming alien robots come to Earth, where of course their fate is tied in with high school students, as it should be. At first I was going to write a one -word review that was going to say "Loud." This was actually mildly entertaining because (1) Shia LaBeouf is pretty good at playing action and comedy. (2) It has kinda a good cast of minor characters, including a funny Bernie Mac scene (is there any other kind?), the kid's parents are funny too (3) the transformers themselves are kinda cool special effects (especially because non-organic things are rendered nicely on computers).

BUT I can't recommend the movie, because the script is pretty stupid. Optimus Prime has some soliloquies about the human race, for no known reason, and overall, it really feels like this movie was written by the Armed Forces. I think young teen boys would like it a lot. '
