★★½ Where Are You Going Moshe?

[Twinkletoes: 2.5]

Twinkletoes says: 'This film takes place in early 1960's Morocco right after the country gained its independence from France. Due to Islamic law and the soon to be complete lack of non Muslims, a slightly shady bar owner is in danger of being forced to close his bar. In order to save his business he does everything he can to try to convince at least one Jew to stay so he will be allowed to keep his bar open. It all sounds like zany fun. But it's really just a mildly humorous story that hinges on what I consider to be a couple ludicrously improbable story elements. They would be forgivable if the film took on the tone of a farce. But it doesn't, especially the very ending which had some in the audience audibly angered.'
