★★★★ Soo
[Twinkletoes: 4.0]Twinkletoes says: 'Here we have another revenge flick from Korea. In this one 2 twin brothers lose touch with each other. One becomes a cop, the other a gangster named Soo. After years of searching for his brother, Soo finally locates him only to witness his assassination at the moment they are being reunited. From that point on he assumes the identity of his brother (who works for a department desperately trying to find this killer named Soo) and goes on an intense quest to avenge his brother's death. There is no doubt about it. This is an intense and exciting film and it has all of the oversized emotions and melodrama that Korean films are so good at. However, I can't get over the feeling that the themes explored here were done so much better and with more artistry in Chan Wook Park's Vengeance Trilogy (Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance, Oldboy, and Lady Vengeance). The comparisons are inevitable. A good film tailor made for me, but not quite as satifying as the films that inspired it.'
