★★★½ The Art of Travel

Twinkletoes says: 'A very likable film about a young man, who after finding out that his fiancée has cheated on him right before their wedding, decides to get on the 1st plane out of the country and ends up in South America. While there he gets involved with a group that is trying to set the world record for crossing the Derian Gap, which is about 50 miles of dense jungle on the border between Panama and Columbia and apparently the only thing stopping one (me in particular) from being able to drive from Alaska to Argentina. Apparently the world record is about 13 months. So anyway this film is largely about that adventure and the life lessons learned on it. I can't say that there is anything exceptional about this thing but it's a nice little film that succeeds in spite of itself on pure charm. My head wants to give this a 3.0. My heart wants to give it a 4.0. So I guess I'll give it a 3.5.'
