★★★½ Margot at the Wedding

[Twinkletoes: 3.5]

Twinkletoes says: 'The latest from Noah Baumbach, the writer/director of The Squid and the Whale and frequent collaborator of Wes Anderson. Like his previous film it is very well acted and its humor is of the most uncomfortable kind. I liked this one slightly less because it felt much further away from anything I could possibly relate too. It sorted reminded me of characters from Woody Allen's Manhattan era universe playing it straight. Or I suppose a Wes Anderson film without the whimsy. And please note that neither of those comparisons is meant to be an insult. This is indeed a very fine film.'
