★★★ For Your Consideration

[Gino: 3.0, Twoshoes: 2.5, Twinkletoes: 3.0]

Twinkletoes says: "Probably my least favorite Chirstopher Guest film. It's not bad. It just doesn't possess the same amount of bizarre humor that runs through some of the best bits in his films. Also, I think the film is wildly uneven. I found the 2nd half much funnier than the 1st half. If you like his other films you'll certainly like this but be prepared to be slightly underwhelmed."

Gino says: "We watched the same movie as you this weekend. I kinda agree, not as good as Best in Show or A Mighty Wind (I didn't like Waiting For Guffman as much as you folks did, I believe). I found I laughed out loud on numerous occasions, but not heartily, if you know what a mean. Also, the DVD image quality was really bad, the first time I have ever noticed that in a rented film. But it's harmless and enjoyable."

I didn't seem to have any problems with the DVD quality. Then again I wasn't blowing the image up to 60 inches!

Also G, did you check out the bonus material? These films tend to have some decent stuff that was left out. What I found particulalry interesting was the very last bit with the lengthy scene with the weather woman and her monkey. Did you see this? It was bizarre. The woman would just crack up at eveything the monkey (she) said. Very strange.

True, it was blown up large, but so is everything else we watch. Everything looked kinda grainy throughout the film, with the very interesting exception that when they showed a clip of what was [fictionally] another film, it was much clearer.

We watched some of the extra clips, but not the one you mention.

Well the one I mention lasts like 10 minutes (seriously) and is basically her and the monkey talking to each other. The fact that she cracks up hysterically at the monkey's/her jokes is so weird if you really think about it.
