★★ Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest

Gino says: "I will say that the details of this film are really well done: seems little expense was spared on the props and the locations and the special effects. However, 3/4 of the way through I said to Twoshes 'I know what the first sentence of my review will be'. That being: 'The next time I am on Rodeo Drive and I run into Jerry Bruckheimer I am going to kick him in the nuts.' (He's the producer). Because while the details are nice in this film, and Bill Nighy is great even covered in CGI, there is no driving force to the thing and it is even kinda confusing for a popcorn movie, when it shouldn't be. It's like 2 1/2 hours long and is mostly oddly-boring action. My advice is to not waste your time on it."

Twinkletoes says: "I can't disagree with one thing Gino has said. What I found particulalry frustrating is the confusing nature of the film that Gino alluded to. I might have been inclined to give this film a slightly higher rating had I just seen the 1st one or had the 1st one been more memorable. Minor characters from the first film were constantly being brought into the story that I was supposed to remember from the 1st film but couldn't. Seriously, a film like this shouldn't require all that much from me."
