★★★★ Inside Man

[Gino: 4.0, TwoShoes: 4.0, Twinkletoes: 3.5]

Gino says: "This Spike Lee film (ok, fine "joint") has a great cast (D.Washington, J.Foster, Chistopher Plummer, Clive Owen, etc.) and has a solid screeplay and nice cinematography. It's even funnier than you might expect from a bank heist drama. And Spike Lee's New York always feels more real to me than say Woody Allen's (even though Spike Lee also lives on the upper east side, I hear). Some people with whom I saw this (Two-shoes' relations) liked it even more than I did. I can only say two negative things about it (1) afterwards I was not totally clear of the motivation for some of the actions of the characters, and (b) the musical score was a little distracting at times. But all in all a great very good film."

Twinkletoes says: "I liked it. I thought Clive Owen was very good. My only problem is that it seemed to me that Jody Foster's character was a bit contrived and pointless. Seriously, couldn't this movie have been made without that character? I almost feel like the studio felt like there needed to be a female in this thing. And I'll agree that it was mildy unclear at times. Oddly I didn't really pick up on the humor Gino noted nor was I particularly distracted by the music."
