★★½ How Do You Know

[Gino: 2.5]

Gino says: 'James L. Brooks movies are sort of a weird subgenre unto itself, and it's hard to put your finger on what makes them unique. You have a few very fleshed-out characters that are not really the normal folks we come in contact with in daily life but neither are they weird for weirdness sake or irony's sake. If you write out the synopsis of the films, you'd think "There is no way that should work." Yet, I loved 'As Good As It Gets' for reasons still mysterious to me, and 'Spanglish' was not too shabby. Anyway, this quality to his movies, along with a good trailer got me to watch a movie starring Reese Witherspoon and Owen Wilson! It's not a bad movie, but I won't quite recommend it. Entirely kept my interest while viewing but I am struggling to remember it from 3 days ago.'
