Gino says: 'This 1962 film is about the Senate politics involved in approving a presidential appointment of a Secretary of State. Don't yawn; I saw that. I won't call it, like, "thrilling" or anything, but it had a lot going for it: a complex plot, beautiful wide-screen (Panavision) black and white photography, quite a good ensemble cast, including Peter Fonda, a Washington "insider" kinda feel to it, and moral dilemmas that would probably seem relevant in the political landscape of any time period, including our own.
