Gino says: 'This tale of an English couple's late 1970's mid-life crisis stars the now-ubiquitous Christian Bale and Emily Watson (who has the strange ability to appear both wise and frightening, all the while using negligible facial expressions.) Nothing particularly wrong with this film, but it was forgettable. The actor John Wood has a very brief but affecting appearance as "the Retired Commuter".'
