★★★★ Mongol
[Twinkletoes: 4.0, Gino: 4.0] Twinkletoes says: 'This film about the life of Genghis Kahn was not quite what I was expecting as it mainly focuses on his earlier life. I kept looking at my watch wondering how the heck he was going to go from slave to uniting the Mongol hordes in the 15 minutes left in the running time. Luckily it didn't take that route. I liked it a lot although I think part of that had to do with the fact that I knew nothing about Genghis Kahn. I'm certain there were some liberties taken with history to make this movie, and with no prior knowledge of the subject to cause annoyance, I'm fine with that. For me the end result was an exciting and absorbing film. It perhaps could have been maybe 20 minutes shorter, but overall a fine film.'
Gino says: 'I agree with Twinkletoes. This is pretty engaging and character-drive, with non-stop gorgeous landscapes of the Steppe.'
