★★★ Epitaph
[Twinkletoes: 3.0]Twinkletoes says: 'This is a Korean horror film about a haunted hospital. Or at least that is what I think it was about. While very well made, I found it all a little confusing. I think there were 3 loosely tied together stories going on but there may have been more. It seems to me that most of the Asian horror films these days are more concerned with creating an atmosphere of horror and dread with less concern for a completely coherent storyline or closure. Personally I would prefer a little explanation with my horror but perhaps that's due to the fact that it's not really my thing. My guess is that if horror is your thing you're more receptive to the worlds these films create and less needful of any connection to a world even remotely approaching reality. Like I said, this is a well made film that looks great (the 1950's hospital setting was pretty cool), and I'll say that it makes a lot more sense than many Asian horror films (I'm thinking of you Tale of Two Sisters). I didn't love it but it is far from a complete waste of time.'
