Twinkletoes says: 'This film tells the story of the unfortunatley name Deiter Dengler and his escape from a POW camp in Laos during the Vietnam War. Its a remarkable story and the film boasts a great cast headed by the always fantastic Christian Bale, the oft overlooked Steve Zahn in a rare dramatic role, and Jeremy Davies who is quickly becoming one of my favorite actors these days. My only issue with the film was that quite frankly, Deiter isn't all that likable of a guy. He's not exactly unlikable but he comes across as sort of a pompous smart ass and this takes away some of the emotional impact that a film like this should pack. Good bordering on very good, but a little short of great.'
