'This was a 5 to look at and a 2 to listen to. There were times when it looked like characters' eyes weren't looking quite where they should be or people were floating along the ground rather than walking on it, but aside from those rare moments this was incredible to look at and one of the most visually stunning films I've seen. What I found particularly interesting was how through the use of artificial shadowing and muted colors, they seemed to make everyone look like a living Greek statue. You'll know what I mean if you see it. At the same time the dialogue of this film mostly consisted of mindless but effective sound bites like "Spartans, prepare for glory!" or "Give them nothing but take from them everything!"'

Gino says: 'Got around to seeing this movie which came free years ago with our DVD player. I was not the target audience, but I felt it was a shame to waste such visual artistry & production design on an average (and mysogynistic) sword and sandal flick.'
