★★★★ Cache
[Twinkletoes: 4.0]
A seemingly happy family starts to receive these odd videotapes. The tapes show hours and hours of footage from a static camera pointed at their front door. Eventually the mystery of who is sending these tapes and why starts to take its toll on the family. This is a fascinating film open to a number of interpretations. Like many of Haneke's films, a feeling of dread pervades it. If you do end up seeing this film I suggest paying close attention to what you're looking at and that is all I will say. I also suggest watching the interview with the director afterwards. I don't like all of his films but I truly believe that Haneke is one of the most interesting filmmakers out there and I think its fascinaing to hear him talk. The man seems to put a great amount of thought into every aspect of his films and how he wants to wants the audience to feel about what they are seeing.
